Oh my, Jean. Your work is truly fascinating. I went through your entire blog here and am now hungry for more. I also see where you got your other blog's name, lol. It's incredibly difficult to find a favorite, dear. These paintings, I can tell, will appeal to others in vastly different ways. I think your oak leaf, looking so shimmering in its checks and other-worldliness might be mine. Just fabulous.
Jean your work is awesome... with your gold leaf paintings do you place gold leaf first over entire panel then paint on top or are they seperate? Thanks Mike
These paintings are acrylic on oak panels with metalic leaf in the manner of the Pre-Renaissance. Most of them were painted in 2008. They are not being shown anywhere at the moment but a very large example of Jean's work in the same style can be seen as a wall mural at Macrina Bakery in Sodo, Seattle.
